Sure, compared to characters like Link, Bomberman, DK, LLoyd, or Shiek, she had better options than the rest of the 0.9b cast. But in beta, she's ranked 28th out of 39 characters, placing her at the end of B- tier. This is such a dramatic drop mainly due to two reasons: Characters like Goku, Fox, and others above ZSS either having a fantastic combo game, very easy kill confirms, or good recoveries.

ZSS has pretty much one combo: down throw, up air, up air, maybe up special at low percents, but its always techable and easy to escape out of. Boost kick is such a better option instead, and is a kill confirm.

My point stands that she's so low ranking because she can't chase anyone offstage. She has to press against the side of a stage or be directly under the ledge if she wants to activate the tether grab.

Also buff down b, it feels too slow and too short.

You do know that top 5 in 9b is something right?

Now compare 9b ZSS to Beta ZSS

If you can't see the nerfs that happened then you should probably look deeper

The latest patch seems to have fixed most of the big problems that ZSS had, like how short-hop bair and fair went over most characters unless timed to be really late. The new trading system allows ZSS to meteor a charging Firefox with dair and survive. Flip Kick has also been made usable, and although the nerf to using it as a recovery hurts, it now means that there's a reason to use Side-B to grab ledge. Fair's also way more reliable.

I wish ZSS' Neutral B was a bit better. It's either you get full charge or the no charge which is really weak.

@TheRebornBowser Agreed. I did play as her in 9b, but not a whole lot. I think Neutral B needs a huge buff.

So for the past few months, I've been wondering if up-b into up-tilt was meteor cancel-able, and I'd always assumed that it was. But now that I have a video editing software that can go frame by frame, I decided to test it out for myself.

So the wiki says meteor cancelling can be done starting on frame 9, meaning that in order for it to be true, the opponent would either have to touch the ground by then, or the hitbox of up-tilt would have to connect. From testing on a falcon at 80%, he hit the ground on the 7th frame of knockback.

Am I missing something here? Couldn't ZSS just chain up-tilt into more up-b's?

I really think that the recovery thing could be easy to be solved by permitting the down b to be followed by the up b, like making only one button start her attack, and the other one could be followed by other attacks without endlag
