I think it's reasonable to nerfs Tails' recovery when he's a multiple jumper with several tool in addition to that to mix-up his recovery. He's so strong on-stage, and when I think about it, most Tails are DI'ing up properly so they don't have to rely on Up-Special to save them; they wisely use it as a last resort recovery option.

But I don't think a speedster like Tails should have a space-control tool. Dealing with his offensive allow was tough for many characters already. Now you're giving him a tool that covers is a** if he approaches to recklessly.

Several times in the moments I saw Tails playing, an opponent would successfully punish or pressure Tails, and the bot would come along and ruin the offense. So you either have to stop your offense and worry about the bot while Tails is now free to be offensive on you, or you get hit and punished even worse. IT also has low-start-up with little cooldown, these type of setups aren't going to be difficult, or a 1-2 times a match moment either.

It just feels so counter-intuitive to his already established playstyle; he's a tech-monster character. Giving him another projectile is either going to take away from that or highly buff his offense to be scared than it already was, or needed to be.

(I guess this is more of a rant)

The only complaint I have for :tails: is that (imo) he's already a top 3-5 character right now in beta 1.0.2, and he got buffed instead of all the lower tiers (besides :yoshi: )..

I know some :tails: mains said he was eh in a discord and saying he needed a buff (I honestly didn't think he did, at-least not yet till other characters get a good buff).

Well I honestly don't see another reason to buff :tails: anymore than this tbh, cause right now tho it isn't out yet, in the new patch, he might be the new best character.

right now :tails: seems like he wont be punished often cause of his new up b, but we should all be glad the bomb doesn't kill (though it doesn't need to).

The only question I have for this is, does the dog self destruct same time as bower jr's toy bomb in smash 4 does?

After a set time, the bomb will stop and explode automatically. It was likely this that you saw/heard.

It seems that the up tilt is another too, a shame, since I used a lot in combos. But aside from that Tails in general seems to have been up with new up b, without so many nerfs apparently.

Jesus christ Tails' fixed sprites look so crisp.
Also that new Up B just seems so fun to use, I don't mind it not recovering at all given he already has 5 jumps.
Totally maining him next patch.
