Beta Mario feels so much cleaner than 0.9b, I really REALLY like the changes to Mario, the trails on his attacks help those of us without....um... (insert unspeakable word here) to see the hitboxes.

Is it just me or is Mario faster? he feels a lot faster to me.

I was just referring to Smash 4. This is my first time touching or hearing about SSF2.

I think ppl might think he would be so much better if he could down throw up tilt 3-4 times into a follow up like he can in ssb4.

Why does :mario: s fair not spike? LOL.

It sends them up wards only.

Either I have terrible luck trying to get a sweet spot, or his fair just can't spike at all (besides spiking them up).

Edit: Nvm, I just got a spike on lol. It seems I have to be directly above them to get it.

How high should the percentage be for Mario to be able to perform his d-throw into f-air combo? For me, I tested it on Sonic and I've found that you can do it around 90%-130% but not around 80%. Could anyone else try this out for other characters of different weights to see if it functions as in Smash 4?

Also, the Ally Combo (up-throw into Mario Tornado/Star Spin into aerial (usually f-air) or up-B) seems to work in this game, though you have to keep button mashing the Star Spin either in the air or rising from the ground. Like in Smash 4, it needs to be done at 0% to around 30%, though I don't think you can do the f-air meteor smash at higher percents.

Down throw into the multiple up tilts don't work as well as in Smash 4, because up tilt in SSF2 seems to deals more damage and knockback, decreasing its comboing and juggling ability (so you can't deal like 25% damage immediately/at low percents). It seems to be possible to a lesser extent though, if you move into a position where the opponent is falling directly after the down throw and start doing them (though they'll probably be in the air by two hits) or just do the up-tilts without the down-throw.

If you catch your opponent shielding a lot at high percentages, spamming fireballs and then running up and doing a pivot grab to back throw can get you a nice kill.

Just a reminder: all of Mario's smash-attacks do 20% fresh.

So it takes only 4 Nair > Usmash strings get someone to 100%, and most characters will die to next smash-attack.

Then you can SH-Fireball several times when they respawn to refresh your moves. Then repeat.
