I think you could make the sprite a bit more agile-looking by bending the arm joints a bit more. Right now they seem kinda stiff.

Okay.

I'll remember that.

Haven't really posted as much since I've been busy irl, annnnnnd I'm still having a hard time grasping anatomy and I delete anything that I start on cause it doesn't look right in the starting process to me. Anyways, seeing Steven's sprites for his RPG card game and my recent addiction to the Fire Emblem series made me wanna make some weapon welder sprites.

The girl on the left is a Mercenary and the guy on the right is a Blade Knight.

I wanna make a series and I have an idea already, but I wanna get better in the design process and focus on my anatomy. I know that it's gonna take a while, so I need to find a way to deal with my impatience.

Small self-observation aside, how do they look? What do I need to fix? Etc.

The green girl doesn't seem to have arm joints/elbows. I think you could fix it by adjusting the shading there, remember that arms are not straight tubes.

The blue seems kind of pale in comparison to the rest of the pallet, it makes the sprite overall look really cold. I would suggest changing the blue pallet entirely, and also upping the contrast of it and of the skin parts.

I also personally think that the 2 pixel line beneath her eyes make her look kind of tired, but that's a minor nitpick.

Decided to throw some colors together that worked well together. You did say this was meant to be SSF2 Styled, so the colors are centered around that. Also fixed a few shading errors on the sprite I noticed. Far from perfect, but it's something.

If I were you though I'd work on that stance. Something about it just seems; off.

Now I see what you mean. I was gonna ask for a single frame of Marth's Win Pose to get a reference, but I didn't want to break any rules.

As for the stance, I was originally gonna use Kenshin's stance from JUS since I'm gonna be reffing a lot of animations from him: Image, but decided on going against that and tried to incorporate her artwork in SSBB as a stance: Image. The only reason that I didn't actually sprite the hand on the sword handle like in the pic, is because she never actually has it there until she's ready to attack like in her battle sprites in FE7. I personally don't think that there's anything wrong with the stance, but I'll look at it some more and see if my mind changes.

You matched them much better, but I think there is a liiiiiittle too much contrast. Make the brightest blue and color for skin have a tiny bit more saturation and a tiny bit less brightness, and you should be fine.
